Send a parcel: compare shipping costs
Choose where your parcel is going and how heavy it is. You see the carriers’ published rates side by side, without a contract and through a shipping platform for webshops.
Without dimensions, we use the smallest size that fits the weight.

How to save on shipping costs
- Letterbox where possible: at most 3.2 cm thick and usually up to 2 kg. Choose your packaging so your product just fits.
- Buying the label online is cheaper than paying at the counter with most carriers.
- Watch the weight limit: 2 grams over the limit of a weight class costs you the price of the next class.
- Do you ship every week? A shipping platform or fulfilment company gives you business rates. From about 50 to 100 orders a month, outsourcing is often cheaper than doing it yourself.
Frequently asked questions
What does it cost to send a parcel?+
Within the Netherlands, without a contract, you usually pay between €5 and €9 for a parcel up to 10 kg, and around €4 to €5 for a letterbox parcel. To Belgium and Germany a parcel up to 5 kg costs €9 to €15, and outside Europe easily €24 or more. The table above shows the lowest published prices by country and weight.
What is the cheapest way to send a parcel?+
If it fits through the letterbox (at most 3.2 cm thick), send it as a letterbox parcel: within the Netherlands that saves about €1 to €3 per shipment. Buy your label online instead of at the counter, pick a carrier with a service point nearby and compare by weight: the cheapest carrier differs by country and weight class.
Why is shipping cheaper as a webshop?+
Through a shipping platform or with a contract you pay lower rates than with single labels, because the carrier prices on volume. Fulfilment companies ship even more parcels and so often get the lowest rates. Work out what that saves you with ship yourself or use fulfilment.
What is volumetric weight?+
For large, light parcels some carriers charge on volumetric weight: length × width × height in cm divided by 5000 (sometimes 4000 or 6000). If that is higher than the actual weight, you pay for the volumetric weight. Work it out with the m³ calculator.
How up to date are these rates?+
We take the prices from the official rate lists of the carriers and platforms, with the date they take effect. Carriers usually change their rates on 1 January and sometimes mid-year. Surcharges (fuel, peak period, remote areas) sometimes come on top. Check the price with the carrier before you ship.
